Dr. Wattenberg is a repeat recipient of this prestigious honor. As a NY Top Doc, Dr. Wattenberg has been recognized as one of the best board-certified dermatologists in New York City.
What does it mean to receive the NY Top Docs award?
This distinction does not come easy. The selection process is stringent, involving multiples steps, and the initial review process takes several years to complete. First, candidates must complete a detailed questionnaire detailing their professional qualifications. This questionnaire asks for information about the doctor’s education, training, the amount of time they have been practicing, continuing education pursuits, any authored and published writings, charitable work they have completed, and any professional, academic, and administrative awards and achievements they have received.
To be recognized as a NY Top Doc, board certification is required if deemed by the specialty. The selection process also adheres to a “minimum years in practice” standard, as the quality of care provided should improve the longer a doctor has been in practice. A malpractice and license review also is conducted for each candidate.
Finally, an internal group of existing NY Top Doc members review each applicant anonymously and choose each recipient. This group has more than 40 years of experience combined in the medical field. Candidates must also pass follow-up reviews every 12 months to maintain their NY Top Docs status.
Receiving this recognition means that the doctor has completed this rigorous application and review process. You also know that practice is going to provide the highest-quality level of care possible.
About Dr. Wattenberg
Dr. Wattenberg received her medical degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, which she obtained after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan while also receiving Phi Beta Kappa membership. In addition to founding NY Skin RX, Dr. Wattenberg teaches and lectures at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology. She also is a board-certified member of the American Academy of Dermatology and Surgery. Dr. Wattenberg also has made many appearances on The Today Show and featured in a wide variety of other widely viewed television programs, as well as magazines, and newspapers.
